Our policies for subscription billing, cancellations, and refunds

This Refund Policy is effective as of November 25, 2025 and applies to all RoomUnicorn subscriptions.

1. Subscription Pricing

RoomUnicorn offers a simple, transparent pricing model:

  • Monthly Plan: $20/month
  • Free Trial: 14 days with full access to all features
  • No Hidden Fees: No setup fees, per-lease fees, or surprise charges
  • Unlimited: Manage up to 20 properties with unlimited units and tenants

2. Free Trial

All new users receive a 14-day free trial with the following terms:

  • Full access to all features during the trial period
  • No credit card required to start the trial
  • You can cancel anytime during the trial with no charges
  • After the trial ends, your subscription automatically begins unless you cancel
  • You will be notified 3 days before your trial ends

3. Billing and Renewal

After your free trial ends:

  • Your subscription automatically renews monthly on the same day each month
  • You will be charged $20/month via Stripe
  • Billing occurs at the start of each billing cycle
  • You will receive a receipt via email for each payment
  • All charges are processed in USD

4. Cancellation Policy

You can cancel your subscription at any time:

  • How to Cancel: Go to Account Settings → Billing → Cancel Subscription
  • Immediate Effect: Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period
  • Access: You'll continue to have full access until the end of the paid period
  • No Penalties: No cancellation fees or early termination charges
  • Reactivation: You can reactivate your subscription at any time

5. Refund Policy

Our refund policy is designed to be fair and transparent:

Free Trial Period

  • No refunds needed - you're not charged during the 14-day trial
  • Cancel anytime during the trial with no charges

After Trial Ends

  • No refunds for partial months: Subscriptions are billed monthly and are non-refundable
  • Pro-rated refunds: Not available. You maintain access through the end of your billing period
  • Billing errors: If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 7 days for review

Special Circumstances

Refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis for:

  • Technical issues that prevented you from using the service
  • Billing errors or duplicate charges
  • Service outages lasting more than 24 consecutive hours

To request a refund under special circumstances, contact us at support@roomunicorn.com within 7 days of the charge.

6. Failed Payments

If a payment fails:

  • You will be notified via email immediately
  • Stripe will automatically retry the payment 3 times over 7 days
  • If all retries fail, your subscription will be cancelled
  • You will lose access to your account after a 7-day grace period
  • You can update your payment method and reactivate at any time

7. Account Deletion

If you delete your account:

  • Your subscription will be cancelled immediately
  • All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
  • No refunds will be issued for the remaining subscription period
  • You can export your data before deletion from Account Settings

8. Price Changes

We may change our pricing in the future. If we do:

  • Existing subscribers will receive 30 days' advance notice
  • New prices will apply at your next billing cycle after the notice period
  • You can cancel before the price change takes effect with no penalty
  • Price increases will never be applied retroactively

9. Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe:

  • RoomUnicorn never stores your credit card information
  • Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant and handles all payment data securely
  • You can update your payment method anytime in Account Settings
  • Stripe's terms and conditions apply to all transactions
